No databases (SQL or NoSQL) are used to organise the emails storage. This makes all emails easily accessible and moveable. In addition manually deleting emails or emails' directories does not prevent Gmvault from working.

With Gmvault, users can choose an email search request to pick-up a restricted set of emails to backup. The search request can use the IMAP or the GMail search dialect.
